I was one of those who took a four-day training in Civil 3D 2008 sometime September last year and for me the whole event was worthwhile. Having absolutely no idea of the workings of Civil 3D, as compared to LDD which was the de facto Civil software in our compnay, I was amazed at the ease with which drafting and design could be done with C3S. Now I use it more than LDD. Many thanks to our instructor Joel who was outstanding in guiding us through the lessons as well as in giving us clear-cut answers to most of the group's questions. I can sense he knows the inside and out of the program. And as a bonus he gave us a glimpse of the CSD 2009 and the visualizations that come with it - which really blew our minds! In retrospect, while I thought the training was a bit short, I now realize that to master the program, it takes practise. More power to your company!

In July I attended an introductory Civil 3D course put on by Cansel in Prince George, and found it to be very informative. The instructor, Mark Filoteo, presented the course material in a straight forward, and easy to understand method. Whenever someone was having a problem with the software, or just didn’t understand something Mark was right there to help them. During the course both Mark’s teach abilities and willingness to help were a definite plus, as I don’t believe that anyone felt left behind or that they missed out on any of the course material. I am currently using the knowledge that I gained from this course at work to design forestry bridges. Without this course and Mark’s instruction it would have taken me weeks to figure out how to use the program. I would recommend this course as well as Mark as an instructor to anyone looking to learn Civil 3D.

I wanted to take a quick moment to tell you about the great training and support that I received from Matt Kolberg while I was employed by a local marine construction company as a surveyor. We had made the decision to change to Civil 3D but lacked the skills and knowledge to be productive in an industry that is known for its tight deadlines. Matt came in and made a custom training program to suit my needs while at the same time helped me complete some of the more complex tasks such as advanced surface building that we would later use for volume calculations in combination with hydrographic survey data. Once the initial training was over, we had Matt help us with ongoing support and training whenever we encountered any problems. You know as well as I do that Civil 3D is a very complicated program, and it is without a doubt that Matts knowledge and professionalism made the learning process quite painless and even enjoyable. Matt really is known as the go to guy for Civil 3D expertise in our industry.

I really enjoyed your Essentials course that I took at Cansel. It was difficult enough that it was interesting and paced appropriately for people of a variety of skill sets. However the advanced course was rather dominated by some members of the audience that had no idea what they were talking about. This detracted from your ability to conduct the course and I believe that you would have also done a very good job with this course as well had it not been ruined by some of the members of the audience. You are a good teacher and I learned enough about Civil 3D to be much better at my job. Your course helped me immensely.

Global CADD systems have been our reseller for quite some time. Over that time, we have developed a very good relationship with them, and GSC has been a great help to us in training, troubleshooting, and providing customized programming. When it came to training, GSC worked with us to develop the specialized and targeted training that we wanted. The training materials was developed according to our corporate needs and standards, and the training sessions based on them have been very beneficial to our CAD users. It's also comforting to know that GSC is there and readily accessible when we have troubleshooting to be done. The custom programs written to streamline function in Civil 3d have also been greatly appreciated. Sometimes the built-in functionality of the software just doesn't do quite what you need. The custom routines developed by GSC gave us a streamlined, quick and painless solution to this frustration. The custom programs are not only functional, but also user friendly and easy to use. We are happy to be working with a reseller that we can develop such a relationship with as we have.

In the many years that we have been dealing with Global Cadd Systems, we have been impressed with the staff and the help and support they have provided to us. Their staff has listened and understands the needs and goals of our company. They have helped us on purchasing the right software for our present and future needs. We have attended training sessions hosted by Global Cadd Systems and we found that the instructor knows his material and was very helpful and friendly to our staff. More recently we had Global Cadd Systems help us implement Civil 3D and Autodesk Vault in our office. They were very efficient and timely on putting it into action. Our team was faced with a problem of customization our Civil 3D software to generate specialized case of road alignment for one of our major clients, we did not know where to turn until we were lead to the GCS group by one of our corporate partners. Global CADD Systems have been closely involved with Wedler Engineerin in setting up training staff and providing technical support for Civil 3D. Global CADD Systems created our Civil 3D Template, has initiated several 3-day training sessions, been available throughout this process to answer questions over the phone or by email and provided other services. Global CADD Systems have been very helpful in the rather steep ascent of the Civil 3D learning curve. The Global CADD Systems technical staff are friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The response time is very good and if the problem can be solved, they solve it.

It is a pleasure for me to write the following reference letter for Matt Kolberg. I met Matt in 2006 when we were both working at Global CADD Systems. I consider myself really lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him. He is an amazing source of knowledge for both Autodesk software and design production. His long term experience as a civil designer with Urban Systems added to the deep knowledge of Autodesk products, programming and passion for what he does, make him a great and rare asset for every civil engineering firm or reseller. He taught me an uncountable numbers of tips and tricks, shortcuts, best practice and design procedures. I was new to Canada at that time and his support, not only work related, has been a major influence on my current career and job position. From being co-workers we now collaborate with a reseller-client relationship, since I recently accepted a position with Urban Systems Ltd. Matt has done an incredible work for our company, from the Civil 3D template implementation to custom VBA routines. He also created custom training course material using Urban Systems standards, best practice procedure documents and he has always been available to solve any issue or problem we may have encountered. I am very pleased with the service and response time that I have received from GCS. Nick Nowitski is a great trainer and an extremely helpful individual for people just learning 3D 2010. The type of work that I perform is not your standard surveying. I provide layout and do asbuilts, as well as find quantities, I do this while designing and redesigning the job to best fit what’s in the field. Nick has been an extremely helpful resource and I probably would still be banging my head on the desk trying to figure out why my layers are so messed up and don’t work properly.(we use to run LDD)
